How do I measure for a waistbead?

Find a tape measure
Holding the tape measure upright, wrap it around the part of your waist/hips that you want your waistbead to sit at.
Wrap the tape measure around your waist snugly, ensuring that you leave 1/2 to 1 inch of space to allow for bloating and stomach expansion when sitting/bending.
The place where the start of the tape measure (0) meets a number, is your waist measurement.
Please be sure to note what unit of measurement you used to measure to ensure your waitbead fits correctly.

How do I tie on my waistbead?

Hold waistbead around waist with loose ends in each hand. (Ensure you have enough extra string on each end to tie).
Wrap waistbead around part of waist that you want it to rest .
Cross one end of waistbead across the other like an "x".
Wrap ends around each other twice.
Use 1 hand to hold the center of waistbead. Bend, stretch, and move in different directions to ensure waistbead is not too tight to allow for everyday movement.
Once satisfied, tie a knot.
Add superglue or clear nail polish to knot to prevent slipping.
Clip excess bead and string off. (If there is enough, excess can be tied as anklet or bracelet.)

What are waistbeads?

Waistbeads are a traditional African body adornment from the early 15th century (originating in Western Africa) that consists of small to medium beads, crystals, charms, etc, strung on various types of string, elastic, or wire. They were worn as symbols of womanhood, fertility, spirituality, and femininity. They are now often worn to help with weight tracking and accountability, spiritual uses, confidence boosters, and more.

Are the waistbeads suitable for sensitive skin?

SRB waistbeads are made with hypoallergenic materials that should not cause skin irritations. If you have further concerns, feel free to contact us at contact@soulrainebodyworks.com to inquire about a list of the exact materials used in each waistbead.

Can waistbeads help with weight loss or waist training?

Waistbeads are a great accountability tool. They can help you track your weightloss/gain progress without the need for stepping on a scale. They can also help you see body composiiton changes despite not seeing the numbers on the scale move.

Can I take my waistbead off?

All tie-on waistbeads are semi-permanent, meaning they are meant to be tied on and left on. In order to remove them, you must cut them off or let them snap on their own. We do offer two removeable styles (clasp and adjustable) that feature clasps in order to easily remove and re-adorn at your convenience.

Are waistbeads good for all body types?

ABSOLUTELY! Waistbeads are not limited to one body type or shape. All bodies are waistbead bodies!

Are the waistbeads adjustable?

We do offer an adjustable style that features a length of chain on the end to allow you to loosen or tighten your waistbead based on your weight fluctuations.

Can anyone wear waistbeads?

Soul Raine Bodyworks takes pride in being an inclusive brand that caters to all ages, races and gender identities. Anyone who is interested is welcome to wear our waistbeads. We do suggest, though, taking time to learn the history and significance of them before making your purchase.

Can I wear waistbeads if I am pregnant?

Absolutely! Traditionally, waistbeads were often worn by expecting mothers to track growth and offer protection for mother and baby. If you are worried about your waitbead becomong uncomfortable as you grow, the clasp or adjustable waistbead options are a great alternative to the tie on option, as they allow you to remove them at your convenience.

How do I know what waistbead size to order?

Waistbeads are made according to the waist size given unless otherwise stated in the product description. Use a tape measure to get your correct waist measurement.

How do I care for and clean my waistbeads?

Waistbead care is easy. To clean them, you simply wash them with soap and water just as you would wash your body. Thourouhgly towel dry or let them air dry in order to prevent molding.

Can I wear waistbeads in water (e.g., while swimming or showering)?

Yes! SRB waistbeads are water safe. To avoid molding, thoroughly towel dry or let your waistbead air dry.

Can I wear waistbeads with other jewelry or accessories?

Yes. Waistbeads can be worn with whatever outfit or accessories that you choose to wear.

Do you offer custom sizing or personalized designs?

How long will it take to get my order?

Processing time (the time it takes to get to your order, get it completed and packed and shipped) is up to 14 days. This does not include the shipping time which can vary based on the carrier, your location, the time of year, and other factors out of our control.

Do you ship internantionally?

SRB does currently offer internantional shipping. Please note that international shipping generally incurs higher costs compared to domestic shipping (in the US) due to factors such as increased transportation expenses, customs duties, and additional handling fees.

What if my waistbead breaks?

Soul Raine Bodyworks creations are made with materials that are quality tested before being used for consumer orders. With that being said, we understand that handmade items sometimes come with defects. Because of this, we offer a guarantee that if your SRB item breaks within 7 days of reciept, we will replace it one (1) time for free.

Note: You must provide order number and photo/video proof of defect in order to receive replacement.

What is your return and exchange policy?

Due to the nature of the products, returns and exchanges are not available. In the incident of a product defect or error with your order, a replacement will be sent to you. If there is a consumer error, you will be required to order a replacement.
